Product Description
Schoenhut's Elite Spinet is a musical instrument of the highest quality. Certain to enhance your child's love of music with its endearing melodic tones. Chromatically tuned, the lovely chime-like notes are produced by little hammers striking precision-ground, German steel music rods (versus the conventional taut wires used in full-sized models). Schoenhut's patented Learning System, with its play-by-color teaching method, makes playing simple and fun. A removable color strip fits behind the keys to guide small fingers from chord to chord. The chart also works on adult keyboards, since keys on Schoenhut toy pianos are of corresponding width. This teaches children proper "finger stretch" from the very beginning. The accompanying Songbook contains a collection of familiar tunes. This Learning System has been specially designed to build a child's confidence and develop basic playing skills.

Brands You Trust: Schoenhut
During 1872 in Germany, Albert Schoenhut fashioned a toy piano for his landlord's daughter. Word of the beautiful little instrument spread, requests poured in, and the Schoenhut Piano Company came into being. Albert later emigrated to the United States and expanded the business to include dolls, circus figures, toys, and other musical instruments. Albert's vintage toys have stood the test of time. They are avidly sought by collectors and can be found on exhibit at prestigious museums throughout the world.

Over the years, the Schoenhut factory has been located in various cities throughout the United States. In 1994, Frank Trinca of Rochester NY purchased the company and re-introduced a number of the early 1900's styles and models. As the business began to grow, Frank encouraged his brother Len to become involved. Len and his wife Renee of St. Augustine, Florida, aware of SchoenhutŪ's prestigious reputation and Frank's progress with the company, jumped at the chance. After traveling back and forth for five years between Rochester and St. Augustine, they moved the entire contents of the factory (including a number of employees) from NY to a newly renovated facility at 6480 US 1 North in St. Augustine.

Schoenhut pianos are not simply small replicas of real pianos. They are authentic musical instruments that emit rich chime-like tones, making the sound unique. Each piano is chromatically tuned, educating the ear of a beginning musician. In addition, the spacing between keys is the same as that on a full-sized piano, teaching proper finger placement. The "tried and true" models (1-1/2 to 3 octaves) are still produced, i.e., a wide range from My First Piano for very wee folk right up through to Baby Grands for more advanced players. New designs and colors are also offered each year. Of great excitement in the world of toy pianos is Schoenhut's new 44-key, 4-octave baby grand. This model is based on a prototype found in the Schoenhut archives from decades past.

1. GET THE STANDUP PIANO LIKE THIS ONE - My son is 1 year old and he just started walking. He's been standing, holding onto furniture, for a few months now, so we had to get a piano that he could stand up at. My neighbors have a smaller one that is basically a few inches off the ground like the one that Schroeder played on The Peanuts. Neither my son, nor our neighbors (2yrs) is interested in sitting on the ground to play the piano. They want to stand up like little rock stars, and bang at those keys with all of their fury! If your son is like mine, you have to get the stand up piano, like this one. 2. THE BLACK FINISH IS BEAUTIFUL - My wife is an interior designer. We are both young and fairly trendy. Our house is very nicely put together and we have nice pieces of furniture. This piano fits right into the living room like another piece of furniture. The piano is beautiful and well made. They don't call it piano black for nothing, as the finish is so nice, dark, and smooth. Very nice? 3. SOUNDS GREAT - My wife and I hope to foster a love of music within my son, as we both love music. I play a little, but didn't get started until much later. I may be too proud a parent, but even when he's banging away it sounds great! I can only imagine once he learns some chords. The keys are tuned just fine and it has a fairly warm tone. I couldn't have asked for anything more. 4. OTHER PARENTS AND KIDS ARE JEALOUS - At Juian's b-day, when we gave him the piano, four or five other parents asked us where to get one. In addition, every 1-2 year old there found there way to the piano throughout the party and banged away. At one point, there were four little ones gathered around. It reminded me of Sammy, Dean, Frank and the rat pack gathered around the piano in Vegas 50 years ago.

It is just what I wanted! It is also a nice looking child's toy piano with a bench at a reasonable price.

It is brilliant, gorgeous...love it!!

Very nice toy piano with beautiful shiny black wood reminiscent of a real piano. The sound is chime rather than real piano sound but not too loud.
